What Did You Expect?

This past weekend, I attended the 5th annual, "Walk By Faith Conference", which was hosted by Fort William Baptist Church, Thunder Bay, Ontario.

I am thankful to God for those who hosted, served in various ways and preached the Word of God. As a Pastor, it is always a blessing to sit in the pew and hear what the Lord has laid upon the hearts of other men as they teach from the Scriptures.

The theme this year was: Walking by Faith in the face of Opposition.

Pastor Julian Freeman encouraged me as he challenged us to: "Expect Opposition" and he did so by teaching from 1 Thessalonians 2:1-16.

1) Expect the Word of God to work, as it worked in you.
2) Expect the Word of God to be opposed as you teach it.
3) Expect the Christian life to be hard as you live it.
4) Expect to need other believers.

Opposition to God and His Word, as we seek to live it and speak it, is to be expected. May we by God's grace, keep trusting Him in the face of it, remembering that He is on the throne, that He will accomplish all His purposes and great is our reward in heaven.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
